room allowing you to fold back the doors and let in the

the horizon. The other 2 rooms offer spacious floor areas,
with extra bed facilities on request, pool views and folding
glass doors. From any of the villa rooms guests can simply
walk out the door and jump into the pool.
A comfortable bar and lounge area on the front veranda and
large open air dining provide guests with outside living in
a luxurious manner.
Continental breakfast is included in all room rates, drinks
and nibbles are available and WiFi internet allows contact
with the outside world (should you want it). All rooms are
serviced daily and fresh beach and room towels are provided.

Desa Dunia Beda Resort
Desa
Dunia Beda, sheltered within a whispering coconut grove on
the island of Gili Trawangan, near Lombok, is reminiscent of
a small Javanese village. The name reflects the concept,
which was to create a different world - one in keeping with
tradition, in tune with nature, and with accomodation that
is simple yet exotic.
The
environmentally
friendly wooden "Joglo" houses were deigned and built in
Yogyakarta, in Java, and then transported by boat to Gili
Trawangan to be reconstructed on site. Each Joglo is
lovingly furnished with hand-carved antique tables, screens,
cupboards, ornate mirrors and primitive artefacts.
Open-weave lamps cast intricate patterns over everything.
Some of the villas boast magnificent four-poster beds, built
into the beams within the central funnel of the roof. A set
of antique double doors leads into a sunny bathroom at the
back, offering total open-air privacy, partially sheltered
by a roof.
The
resort
merges nature with culture. An intriguing gateway marks the
entrance, with gnarled tree branches forming a rustic
pergola. Funky lanterns following the same theme weave
through the garden. The stunning swimming pool is the
largest on the island and lined with smooth slate from
India; its infinity edge bordered by wooden decks that
create contemporary clean lines in the otherwise ethnic, but
immaculate, surroundings.
Situated a twenty-minute Cidomo ride away from the hubbub
and nightlife of the island; activities include snorkelling
and scuba diving on the nearby reef, as well as
horse-riding, fishing, cycling and swimming. Alternatively,
you can simply chill out and do nothing beside the pool or
in the little beach pavilion, known as the ‘bale pantai’,
and enjoy the personal service offered by Desa Dunia Beda’s
caring staff.

”Gili” means little island in the local
Sasak dialect.
Half an hour from the northwest coast of
Lombok by an outrigger boat are 3 coral fringed

to expand. The paperwork attached to the land and complex is
clear and legally documented.
There is a new
luxury 2 bed villa at rear of complex with plunge pool which
would be ideal for the owners. It has all mod cons,
satellite TV, fully equipped western kitchen, terrazzo
bathroom and sunset balcony.
As there is no
fresh water on the island, the natural reservoir tends to be
salty. This prompted us to install plumbing that enables us
to transport fresh water from the mainland into the kitchen,
as well as all guest rooms.
Bar / Restaurant
The
bar itself is renowned, not only as an entertainment hub
with a massive turnover, but also due to the modern,
computerised systems, all stock, accounts and tills are computerised, the only such system on the Island. Fair, open
contracts with all staff are in place and our local partner
(essential for good island relations) has a small 10% share.
He is also a well respected member of the Island’s head
family, and is very content with the way the business has
integrated into the community.
We also have a
party night! As the island is small, only one establishment
can have a late night party each night. Wednesday is our
night, and as you can imagine, it often gets very busy.

BIG
BUBBLE BUNGALOWS
Nestled
amongst beautiful gardens, Big Bubble, has seven spacious
bungalows designed specifically with weary travellers in
mind. They are the perfect place to relax with hammocks and
daybeds on private terraces, surrounded by blossoming
Frangipani and Bourganvillea.
Big Bubble Bungalows offer both air conditioned and fan only
rooms. Booking is essential especially throughout the
island’s ‘high season’ of July, August and September.
The rooms are large and all have custom built wooden beds,
made on site by carpenters from Lombok. There are
extra beds available for those travelling in a group or with
children.
Big Bubble
Bungalows was taken over by two British girls, Anna and
Vicky, in June 2004. The shop
has been expanded and renovated to include a new dive shop,
equipment and compressor room, swimming pool, bar, terrace,
bungalows and beach volleyball court.
Whilst maintaining the famous laid back atmosphere, and
friendly personal service, Big Bubble now boasts first class
facilities for divers and travellers alike.
The ‘Breakfast –
Anytime’ Policy is a huge success with guests, and means
there’s no need to rush in the morning.
All bungalow guests have free use of the shop’s facilities.
There’s a large swimming pool, beach volleyball court,
hammocks and books available for everyone.

BEACH RESORT & ROOMS
Situated just a short walk
south of the jetty on Gili Trawangan, Pesona Resort is
an ideal place to spend your time here. The friendly
staff will look after your every need and their stories
will have you laughing with delight.
The bungalows are set back from the restaurant with
attractive gardens displaying exotic flowers and plants.
Each room has its own private veranda where you can
chill in peace with a good book.
The pool overlooks the white sandy private beach and the
turquoise ocean, with Gunung Rinjani as its backdrop.
You can watch the boats coming and going from the
harbour and the dive centres and sometimes see the fish
jumping.
We have three types of accommodation available to our
guests. All of our rooms are considerately furnished
with quality in mind and have en-suite western standard
bathrooms.
Villa Rooms
Three newly built luxurious and spacious rooms, all
available as connecting rooms for a family or as
individual rooms.
The two large ground floor rooms have air conditioning
and hot water, one with a private veranda looking
through the garden towards the ocean, and the other with
a small courtyard.
The first floor suite can be reached either by an
internal connecting staircase from the rooms below, or
externally via the private terrace. If this room is
taken without the connecting option, the main bedroom is
adjoined by an ante-room, which can be used as a second
bedroom for the kids or as a lounge area. The elevated
terrace is equipped with sun beds and has a beautiful
view to the sea through the palm trees.

Deluxe Bungalows
Individual and authentic, the original bungalow style
refurbished to a high standard, each with a private
veranda sporting cushions and a hammock for the ultimate
lazy afternoon.
Air conditioning, cable TV and DVD player feature, along
with an in-room safety box. The designer terrazzo
bathrooms also have hot water showers. Two of the rooms
can be arranged either as twin or double beds.

Standard Rooms
There are six of these rooms, all equipped with a double
bed and a ceiling fan to keep you cool. Three on the
ground-floor each have their own private verandah with a
hammock and cushions to lounge on, whilst the first
floor rooms have similarly styled balconies looking out
to the treetops and catching the fresh breezes at night.
Newly built in 2009, these rooms have western standard
bathrooms, with hot water, Balinese style furniture and
a safety box for your valuables. They are ideal for
guests who want to avoid air conditioning and who are on
a smaller budget, but who don't want to compromise on
standards.

chefs lovingly prepare the food using the best imported
ingredients and we have a comprehensive menu of
authentic Indian cuisine to delight your taste buds.
Wonderful freshly prepared kebabs and breads are cooked
in the smoky tandoor oven and our curries are cooked
specially to order, ranging from classic tikka masala to
a more traditional dopiaza or a dal - all spiced to your
taste. The huge papadums are a sight to behold and come
with a selection of freshly made chutneys. There is also
a barbecue offering fresh fish with a twist - have your
snapper cooked to perfection basted with a tandoori
sauce, or your barracuda with an Indian curry flavour.
Supplement your meal with an authentic Indian lassi,
made with our own home-made yoghurt, or choose from a
good selection of local and imported wines. We also have
a fully stocked bar with local and imported spirits, and
a comprehensive list of cocktails, all available during
our happy hour to get your evening off to a great start.
The bar is open all day, so you can enjoy fresh juices
and cocktails whilst you soak up the sun or cool down in
the pool.
Sheesha Lounge
Pesona Resort is
the only place on the island where you can indulge in
the exotic sheesha pipes. Sit on the beach at sunset,
prolong a sociable dinner, or simply stop to chill in
the afternoon sun. We import the best tobacco from the
Middle East and stock a variety of flavours including
seductive rose, tangy lemon, mellow cappuccino and
apple, the all-time favourite. Make it part of a
romantic evening whilst you watch the sun setting on the
mountains, or the full moon rising; or come with loads
of friends and get a few flavours going together.
Pesona Resort also has a
much-desired, Indian Restaurant on Gili Trawangan yes, the
latest scoop from an island that prides itself on its open
attitude and diverse cultural acceptance. Indian food is
loved the entire world over and it was with excitement and
craving .
at the front of Pesona is a
private beach where people can sunbathe during the day,
and indulge in sunset cocktails, lassies and sheesha (flavoured
tobacco smoked through natural filtered water and shared)
using Al Fakher tobacco
imported from Dubai, of apple or
strawberry flavours, from the scattered cushions and low
opium tables or from within the pondoks (thatched
pavilions). Agreat selection of cocktails will get
everything off to a fabulous start - the Pesona Fruit
Cocktail is red wine, orange, lemon, pineapple and water
melon, the Pesona Sangria is fabulous as sun sets.
Wines - local Hattens by bottle
& glass, as well as French, Chilean, Australian imports by
the bottle. Not forgetting our dear old favourite Spirits
List of G&T or voddie with ice and a slice.
The Pesona resort on Gili is a
