Jimbaran is a fishing
village and tourist resort in
Bali, Indonesia. Located just at the south of Ngurah Rai
International Airport, the beach is cluttered with
hotels from inexpensive homestays to five stars hotels.
Tourism in Jimbaran has increased rapidly that has
boosted local economy, but it suffered by the 2005 Bali
bombings where the bomb exploded in one of the
restaurants in Jimbaran.
Jimbaran lies on the 'neck' of the southern peninsula in
Bali and is widely known for the fresh seafood kiosks
that litter the beach. Diners select the seafood live
that they wish to eat and it is prepared immediately.
More recently, Jimbaran has become a popular location
for foreigners to build villas.
Jimbaran
is directly South of the airport, in the way of Denpasar
tothe Nusa Dua. The village of Jimbaran is the narrow
neck of the island of Bali, and has thus two diverse
beaches remarkable. In the west, the beach of Jimbaran
does in front of the bay of Jimbaran, aligned recently
by the new luxurious resources. In the east, the beach
does in front of the water of surface sheltered by Benoa
Harbor.
The new tourist resources that appear now in Jimbaran
have more option to have supper towards outside.
Throughout the Jimbaran to the beach of Kedonganan there
are many cafes worked by local people. He is something

Almost
all the cafe provide special menus of the seafood with
local prescriptions or the combination with the western
one. Fish are provide by a next village of the fishermen
in Kedonganan. Some the salesmen still sell their fish

atmosphere. Jukungs (Balinese small traditional boat)

shining stars in the sky, guard-like lights of the

Jimbaran
is most widely known for it's beach front fish
restaurants, which run the virtual length of the beach.
Being west facing, it certainly is a pleasant spot at
sunset, and many of these restaurants are good. Be
careful though, Bali is not known for it's superb
seafood, but perhaps for "Bali belly". Besides the
beach, there is really very little else, tourist
resource wise here. Most people traveling into Kuta or
Sanur for shopping / entertainment. Scenary wise though,
Jimbaran, is very lush, with many tropical plants.
Bukit Peninsula
As you rise up Jimbaran hill then around Uluwatu you
will see the vegetation change. The area being a lot
less lush than the bay below. This is primarily due to
the poor / rocky soil conditions. So, if you want plenty
of tropical plants and coconut palms, it is time to
think about another area! This area has an increasing
number of private villas, often with spectacular views
down to the Indian Ocean one side, and then to the
Lombok Straights and Mount Agung (on a very clear day)
the other. Again, there is very little in the way of
tourist resource up here, with people having to drive
into Kuta or Sanur, some distance away, for their needs.
